This edgy pop-up restaurant needed a distinctive website presence. The outcome was a dynamic, user-friendly site that matched the chef’s unique brand and personality.
High-end dining has long been a central attraction for the Wynn Las Vegas hotel and Casino. Facing extended downtime for marquee restaurant Mizumi due to renovations, the Wynn team hit on an idea— why not tap into the pop-up restaurant trend while improvements to the restaurant were underway?
Running with the idea, Wynn partnered with New Epoch Software and partner Designpax to design a website for the new pop-up, Min's Test Kitchen. The site would need to differ from the more formal aesthetic of the Mizumi sit-down restaurant and align more with the edgy, hip sensibilities of Chef Min Kim himself and the pop-up world.
Starting with several rounds of UX/UI design in Figma and some additional advanced prototyping in WebFlow, Designpax ensured that the new site would have the right look and feel for pop-up dining. Development was executed with React.js, and Contentful was leveraged as the site CMS. The result was an easy-to-navigate, dynamic site that delivered an outstanding user experience and aligned perfectly with Chef Min Kim’s distinct personality and brand.
